Whether you're part of a knitting circle, a painting group, the girl scouts or a car club, Hyde Hall offers something special to suit your interests. Knit on our South Veranda and take a tour to admire our historic textiles. Enjoy the grounds while painting from nature and take a tour focusing on the artwork in our collection. It's the perfect outing for history buffs, art lovers, and enthusiasts of all kinds.
School Group Tours
Hyde Hall welcomes school groups to our museum to experience educational programs that explore NY State history. Hyde Hall represents over 200 years of the Clarke family’s life as well as the lives of the servants and workers who maintained the estate. We offer a variety of educational opportunities that include the following:

The Dangerous Victorian Tour
Step back into the Victorian era with the Dangerous Victorian Tour at Hyde Hall — a fascinating look at the hidden hazards of 19th-century life. Discover the surprising dangers lurking throughout the historic house, from toxic cosmetics and deadly medicines to poisonous paints and wallpaper once commonly used by unsuspecting Victorians. This unique specialty tour reveals the darker side of everyday life in a way you’ve never experienced before. Tours are offered by reservation only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM. Regular admission rates apply. To reserve your tour, contact

Hyde & Shriek! Candlelit Ghost Tour
Private Ghost Tours are now available all season at Hyde Hall! Explore the mansion’s candlelit halls while hearing chilling true stories of mysterious sightings and unexplained events from the past two centuries. Be prepared — you never know what may be waiting in the shadows! Tours are $200 for up to 10 people, with additional guests $20 each. Home & Family Tours
Explore the history of the house and five generations of the Clarke family that inhabited it. Visitors of all ages will enjoy its beautiful grounds overlooking Otsego Lake and its rich collection of furniture, paintings, and decorative arts.
