Our Mission & Vision
The Staff
Famous for its neoclassical architecture, rich history, and scenic views of Otsego Lake, Hyde Hall was built between 1817 and 1834 by George Clarke. After the stewardship of five Clarke generations, the estate faced demolition in 1963 when it was acquired by New York State. However, in 1969 New York State and the Friends of Hyde Hall formed a partnership to preserve and interpret the Hall, outbuildings, and grounds. Now recognized by the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark, Hyde Hall offers engaging tours and events for public enjoyment and a rich historical experience.

Our mission is to preserve and share Hyde Hall, promote research, and develop inclusive educational programs and events that help diverse audiences explore, appreciate, and understand history.
