Hyde Hall’s restoration saga began in the early 1970s and continues today. Early efforts focused on assessing and addressing the Hall's structural priorities and outbuildings' viability. Major work went into arresting decades of deterioration and restoring systems that had fallen into complete disrepair.

Since the mid-2010, the Hall, outbuildings, and landscape have seen an incredible array of restorations and improvements.

Current and future interior restorations include:

  • Finishing the Kitchen and Water Closet restorations in progress

  • Restoring the bell boards and bell system throughout Hyde Hall

  • Installing reproduction yellow silk figured damask curtains in the Drawing Room

  • Installing a Brussels carpet in the Inner and Outer Libraries

  • Finishing the bed curtain installation in the George Clarke bedroom and bed curtain and gilt frame in the Ann Low Cary Cooper Clarke bedroom

  • Locating and installing a period billiards table and Argand lamp (or an accurate reproduction) in the Billiards Room

Work on the outbuildings and landscape will include:

  • Rebuilding the Cattle Barn and Cart Hovel on the original sites

  • Relandscaping the south entrance to the Estate and creating a larger visitors’ parking area

  • Restoring the allée of trees leading from the Mill Road entrance to the Tin Top Visitors’ Center

  • Restoring the Rose Garden
